Santhosh Kumar.KI am happy that the City Police is one of the best in the country with all their "limitations'. Still I have a humble suggestion to make here. Why not the Police take immediate actions against the tw0-wheelers who neglect the traffic rules and overtake from the left side? Why not the polic demarcate the directions to go at all junctions on the road, on the tarmac with arrows, say about 300mts away from the junction head? This i believe would solve the traffic bottleneck always.
Koshy VargheseWe have got a wonderful chance to showcase kochi's beauty to the whole world through Volvo Race. the participants as well as other international visitors should truly feel that the traffic movement on roads and other places of visit should be hassle free and friendly...Would appreciate, if action is taken in this regard
KeziahKochi city has grown beyond what it can accomodate. All we do is to properly manage the traffic. Atleast the heavy vehicles including tippers and carriers should not be allowed to use the roads, including the bypass and the seaport- airport roads from 8am -11am and 5pm -10pm during the peak hrs. This can reduce half of the traffic confusions. Everybody would agree with me that they are the worst and rash drivers on roads. Request the police to seriously think of it
HarishCongratulations and my sincere appreciations. Hope this innovative step will help Kerala Police to know and reach the hearts of the people. i do not know what made me browse this page, but gave a wonderful time and experience, going through the site. Thank you very much
AllanI thank city police commisioner sir MR. Manoj Abraham for his true dedication towards making Kochi City a heaven.
ArunRule 119(2)Central MV Rules No motor vehicle including agricultural tractor shall be fitted with horn giving a succession of different notes or with any other sound producing device giving an unduly harsh ,shrill, loud or alarming noice Rule 359(1)Kerala MV rules Horns Restriction on use of-No driver of a motor vehicle shall sound the horn or other device for giving audible warning with which the motor vehicle is equipped , or shall cause or allow any other person to do so to an extent beyond that which is reasonably to ensure safety. Rule 120(2)Central MV rules Noise Standards - Every motor vehicle shall be constructed and maintained so as to conform to noise standards specified in part E of the schedule VI to the environmental (protection ) rules 1986 when tested as per IS : 3028-1998 as ammended from time to time Section 190(2)MV Act Any person who drives or causes or allows to be driven , in any public place a motor vehicle which violates the standards in relation to road safety control of noise and air pollution, shall be punishable for first offence with a fine of one thousand rupees and for any second or subsequent of offence with a fine of two thousand rupees But in the city of cochin a lot of private buses violates these rules and act on mainly following points 1.Using horns unnecessarily 2.Using multi toned horns 3.Some buses use air horn too which violates the sound limit Study reports shows that noise pollution in the city is hazardous which is mainly due to these private buses.I thing Police is the only authority which can solve this problem .Believing that police can solve this problem
Ramachandra MenonAfter my comment on the woes of the old people in crossing the road, I aged 74 and my friend aged 76 were to cross the road at Kaloor near Mathrubhumi. Time was 5 pm on last Saturday. We crossed the half of the road and were waiting to cross the next half. An autorikshaw from West side came and braced over my friend and he fell down immediately. His ankle was twisted and he was lying in the road crying out of extreme pain. I tried to lift him up and with very great difficulty with the help of two or three persons I could bring the victim to the foot path. The auto who came on the wrong side vanished. Police man was not visible. I had to rush my friend to the hospital since he was crying with extreme pain. I took him to Specialists Hospital where it was found tha his leg bone had suffered three factures and twists, and other injuries apart. They had to operate him immediately. Now he is lying in the Specialists hospital. I did not register any police case since I had no time to run after the erring auto driver. My friend will be incapacitated and immobilised for nearly six months and the quality of the rest of his life will certainly not be the same as before. This is mainly because of the lack of traffic sense of the drivers. Kochi police can take give publicity through the medium of TV for the lane discipline and respect of the traffic signals. It is going from bad to worse and some action from the police is needed. You cannot allow things to take their own course.
Prassoon A.SThis is a very useful site and nice to know that Kerala police is becoming hi-tech. But I couldnt find anywhere in the entire site a number for "Male harrasment cell"!!! I'm such a victim and its a pity that as citizen of India I'm completely ignored. Isnt it violation of fundamental rights to equality as per Indian constitution? I hope someone will consider me in the near future other than to pay tax. Thanks and regards Prassoon.
AnjuIt would be a nice idea to have photos of all wanted criminals, and terrorists on this site. The CBI site for instance has a list of all WANTED PERSONS on it
Abrachan PudusserryMy sincere appreciation to every one behind this initiative (internet as a medium of communication between the police and the citizens of Kochi). This is just wonderful. Keep up the best work.

Jithin R JI have been living in cochin for the past 15 yrs and have taken great proud for that matter. But i have a few suggestions or rather requests.1.Traffic must be tamed esp private buses and autos. 2. Auto MUST run with meters. 3. regarding the fuss being which is created about metro rail..i have a suggestion...if people from all walks of life are ready to commute in metro rail instead of their private vehicles, then go for it,it will ease the congestion on road..but if they are reluctant to use metro rail and insist they will travel only in their private vehicles...then there is no point in introducing metro rail..it will only aggravate the traffic woes of kochi...so just conduct a public poll before introducing metro rail...
SUNIL JOSEPHLast 2 days Traffic congestion has really eased out in the city especially during the paek hours-Hats off to the Commissioner and his team.Pls keep it up
Asoka NarayananThe new Traffic system adopted from Monday is very successful. Previously I had to spend alost an hour to Travel 6 km from Alinchuvadu to Pharmacy Junction. Now it is just 20 minutes. The high light is that you are less tense in the road and less pollutted and save lot of precious petrol daily. Thanks. Thanks a lot. Best wishes and keep going. Regards Asoka Narayanan.
ArunI am one of the resident in cochin city . I am facing problem while traveling Auto Riksha in city limit . 1) none of Auto Rickshaws are using meter . 2) before entering into Rickshaw we need to attend an interview with auto driver if he satisfied then only he will allow the travel 3) if we travel 1.5 km they are chargin Rs.20 and more as per their convenient like prediction charge. 4) every time we need to fight with drivers. most of the time they are threatening dear sir dose we have any rules for smooth traveling
