I am really happy to something like this from the Police force of my beloved home town. This is a great move, at the same time, it would be great to see it updated and be more transparent - the number of crimes reported, missing people, accidents taking place which coudl be a real eye-opener. "POLICE AT YOUR DOOR STEPS" guide is really a thoughtful attempt to allay the misconception of our policing system. It would certainly bring the people closer to the police and help improve the quality of city life. I would have preferred the same booklet in English language as well, so that it would help the non malayalam speaking community in this metro city. Very well conceived and informative web site. Traffic offences especially by private buses are on the increase in the city. Perhaps very stringent measures initiated by the police such as prompt cancellation of licenses and speed checks would come a long way in helping law abiding citizens to drive peacefully in the city. Very often we find policemen looking the other way when offences are commited by these private bus drivers.The Kochi city police would really win appreciation if they could do something about this.

Site is very good, but there is no proper interaction, especially when a problem is highlighted, in the discussion forum. However, we see a reply only when the police dept is appreciated. Does this mean that the dept is purposefully discouraging corrective measures required, in the city? If so, the this website too will end up like the 'usual police station'. Hope the commisisoner will be wise enough to be proactive, monitor the site regularly and take up criticism to constructively make necessary situations, for the good of the city dwellers. Hope he would employ someoen to take monitor the site daily, and give regular replies, so that the general public will have a feel that problems are beign taken up and tackled. Otherwise, this site too will become one white elephant.

Good Site. Glad to see Kochi Police is gobe cyber, but what about the day to day activities. We shouldnt be running behind terrorists in pakistan. The biggest terrorists in our state is the transportation itself. how many lives are taken every day. How many childrens are orphans, women become widows. its time to bring a solution to this. Look at the buses, KSRTC, city , look at the damages on them. Act fast, if not we can have a control on the population.
