The need for blood is acute - on any given day, approximately 32,000 units of Red Blood Cells are needed. Accident victims, people undergoing surgery, and patients receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer, or other diseases, such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia, all utilize blood. More than 23 million units of blood components are transfused every year.
We request you to go through the following list of ailments / conditions before registering yourself as a voluntary blood donor.

If you are suffering from any of these ailments / conditions, we request you not to register as a voluntary blood donor. If you have undergone any major surgery, suffered from jaundice, suffered from malaria/typhoid or vaccinated in the last 1 year, we request you to register as a voluntary blood donor after 6 months. If you are not suffering from any of these ailments / conditions, we request you to register as a voluntary blood donor.
